Know Your Bite

In my capstone project "Know Your Bite," I designed an application that empowers consumers to make healthier dietary choices by providing clear, actionable insights into food labels. Using machine learning, the app classifies food products based on their ingredient lists and suggests healthier alternatives, addressing the challenge of complex and often misleading food labeling. The project not only demystifies ingredient lists filled with obscure terms and harmful additives but also promotes transparency and healthier eating habits by simplifying the decision-making process for consumers. This initiative tackles the pressing issue of inconsistent labeling standards, making it easier for everyone to understand the health implications of their food choices and fostering a more informed public.

Reddit Post Classification NLP

My "reddit-classification-nlp" project focuses on identifying trending technologies by classifying discussions from the r/technology and r/gadgets subreddits. Using a machine learning model, the project handles the classification challenges and enhances product development strategies by aligning them with consumer interests, based on real-time data gathered via the Reddit API.

Identifying Key Drivers of Youth Crime

In our collaborative project, "Identifying Key Drivers of Youth Crime," we used machine learning to analyze key socioeconomic, educational, and demographic factors across U.S. states. Our findings identify major influences on youth crime rates, offering insights to help shape effective community interventions. This effort highlights our commitment to applying data science for meaningful social impact.
